Getting There

Note for guests who need transportation from Orcas Ferry Terminal or Eastsound Airport to Camp Moran: To get to the wedding site or to your accommodations, we recommend making a reservation with Orcas Island Shuttle. You can reach them at email@orcasislandshuttle.com or (360) 376-RIDE (7433).
Guests at Orcas Suites at Rosario: The Orcas Island shuttle stops right at your destination.
Guests at Camp Moran: the Orcas Island shuttle stops half a mile short of Camp Moran. Proceed on foot to the Camp.
The San Juan Islands lie at the watery northwestern corner of the Lower 48, and Orcas is their romantic crown jewel. But that remoteness comes at a price; there’s no easy way to get there. At some point in your travels, you will say to yourself, “Blast! Why did David and Anjali have to get married on the edge of the continent?”
Then, as you embark on the ferry from Anacortes to Orcas, the frets of your landlocked life will melt in the boat’s wake. On the road to Camp Moran, you will wend past stands of Garry oak and Douglas fir, past pastures of sheep, past the gin-clear waters of Cascade Lake. You’ll walk to the top of Mount Constitution and look down on an archipelago of mountain islands strewn like emeralds.
And you will say, “WOW…here I am, on the edge of the continent.”
To make it as easy for you as possible, we have laid out all the options in quick bullet points, including rental car, shuttle, ferry and planes.
What are my choices?
Option 1: Rent a car from Seattle-Tacoma Airport, drive onto the ferry, drive to Camp Moran. Upside: maximum mobility on the island. Downside: Wait times of two or three hours to board the ferry to Orcas, and four to five hours on the return.
Option 2: Take a shuttle from Seattle-Tacoma Airport, walk onto the ferry, shuttle to Camp Moran. Upside: No waiting at the ferry. Downside: No car for luggage or the occasional jaunt to town.
Option 3: Fly from Seattle-Tacoma Airport to Orcas Airport, shuttle to Camp Moran. Upside: Fast and very scenic. Downside: Expensive.
Now, the particulars:

How to Get to and from Seattle
All of our options have you flying into Seattle-Tacoma Airport (SEA), Seattle’s main airport. For best fares, we recommend that you make reservations soon — like today!
Arrange to arrive early and leave late. The drive and ferry will take a long time. Depending on your mode of transport, travel from SEA to Orcas may take four to seven hours. The return trip may take even longer for visitors with cars, as the ferry is crowded at the end of Labor Day weekend. We recommend arriving at SEA no later than 2 p.m., and book a return flight on Monday that leaves no earlier than 4 p.m.
If you can’t arrive or leave in time and require an overnight stay in Seattle, let us know and we will help you find accommodations.

About the Ferry
It’s important to sync your travel so you don’t miss the ferry. It is the only way on or off the island. This is especially crucial for drivers, since cars must wait in line for limited space. Those with cars can expect a wait time of two to three hours to board the ferry to Orcas, and two to four hours upon return. Pedestrians walk on immediately.
Fares depend on your day of travel, the size of your vehicle, and the number of passengers. For example, round-trip fare for one walk-on adult is $14, while a car with four adults is about $85. Discounts are available for youth and seniors.
For schedules and rates, download the PDF. Look for “Anacortes/San Juan Islands Westbound” on the second page.
About the Shuttles
Actually, we’re talking two shuttles here. One gets you from Sea-Tac to the ferry terminal at Anacortes. The other gets you from Eastsound Ferry Terminal, where the ferry lands on Orcas, to our wedding site at Camp Moran.
From SEA to Anacortes: Airporter Shuttle is a three hour trip with one, very easy transfer. Roundtrip fare on Bellair Shuttle is $61 for adults, $55.50 for seniors, $35.50 for minors. Children under two ride free. Child seats are not required in Washington State and are not provided. We recommend booking one month in advance. Book four tickets or more and save 10%.
From Orcas Ferry Terminal or Eastsound Airport to Camp Moran: To get to the wedding site or to your accommodations, we recommend Orcas Island Shuttle. You can reach them at email@orcasislandshuttle.com or (360) 376-RIDE (7433).

About Car Rentals
SEA to Anacortes: All major rental-car companies have rental offices near to SEA.
We recommend booking as early as possible — like now! — to snare a good rate on the busy Labor Day weekend. Consider booking flight and rental together to save a few bucks.
On Orcas: No cars are available for rent on the island, though that may change as Labor Day weekend approaches. Check back for availability.
About Small Planes
Kenmore Air offers four flights each day from Seattle to Orcas Airport. Fares are $109 per passenger for a one-way trip. The flight takes 55 minutes. Kenmore Air offers a free shuttle from SEA to Seattle Boeing Field, where the flight originates.
Leave one hour for your connection between SEA and Boeing Field. And book early, just as you would with a rental car or a standard flight.
